Scary experience
I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to write about for my next topic, I had a few ideas floating around my head but then I had a terrifying experience yesterday and felt like I should write about that.
I went out to lunch with a friend yesterday and when I left our house the weather was horrible snowing, windy and poor visibility and the roads weren't in good shape either, but as I got closer to town it cleared up and was sunny so that was that. I was heading back home and the roads were pretty slushy and not in the greatest shape and all of a sudden my car started swerving and was heading towards the on coming traffic, my first instinct was the break but I knew that wouldn't do me any good so I concentrated on staying on my side of the road as much as I could. I guess in that process I ended up a little too close to the shoulder and hit some more slush and before I knew it I was rolling down a bank. It litterley all happened so fast I still can't believe it. It landed on its side with the drivers side facing upwards. When it stopped rolling I was still conscious so I took my seat belt off and stood up, my first thought was I needed to call my husband, I was only about 5 minutes from home so knew he would be there quick. When I stood up I could get out because the door was too heavy for me to hold open and get out at the same time. There was already a gold there calling 911 and thankfully withing a few seconds there was a few men there and they helped me get out.
The whole thing happened so fast it really gives a new meaning to "things can happen in a blink of an eye". I thankfully managed to get out of it without any serious injuries just mild whiplash, killer headaches and some bruises. Its ironic too because we always see people who swerve off the roads and into ditches and such but you never think that something like that will happen to you. Needless to say I am extremely thankful and grateful that it wasn't any worse then it was.
Here are two pictures that I have of my car, doesn't show all the damage but gives you an idea.

New Year, new blog!
Hello there, long time no see. I have been VERY neglectful of this blog and I had been thinking about it a lot lately and wanted to get back into. When I first started this blog it was meant to be basically make-up and beauty related because those re someof my major interests, however I just couldn't seem to get into writing about it on a regular basis which is why this palce kind of died. I didn't want to go through making a whole new blog so I am taking this same one and its going to be more of a "my life" sort of blog, I'll still be writing about beauty and make-up because I do love it and its largely in my life, however I want to write about many more topics that are relevant in my daily life, other things I love and enjoy as well as just some posts about feelings/venting and anything else that I have an urge to share. So thank you for reading and I do hope you enjoy, and now onto my first real topic for the new year, and how fitting my New Years resolutions.
Get into better shape. I have been very neglectful lately with healthy eating habbits and exercising on a regular babis. I'm not "dieting" I want to work on making better decisions on a daily basis, I don't plan on completely cutting out anything bad from my diet, been there, done that didn't work. I do really well a few weeks makybe even months and then I just get tired of "wanting" certain foods. This year I want to actively try and make healthier choices and if some evening I get a craving for sweets or an unhealthy snack and not deprive myself, I know this will keep me on track more. I use to aslo be really good with working out 3-4 times a week, Ive done bootcamps before and just the gym as well and I feel so much better when I do that. I want to loose about 20-25 pounds but for me this time it isn't all about the number I want to feel healthier and lead a better lifestyle.
Work on my photogyaphy. My biggest passion if photography and one day I hope to be well enough established to have it as my career, but I know I have a long ways to go yet for that to happen. When I decided to take it seriously last year I had a decent amount of free time so I figured it was as good as time as any, and then I started a new job where I had a lot less time to devout to it. I've done a few shoots here and there and love landscape photography but I want to make it a point to elarn more about it this year and make more timeforit in general.
Become more organized around the home. I will admit I am a pack rat,I keep things because I might need/use them sometime in the future. I've always been like this but lately been getting better with it, I've already gotten rid of multiple garbage bags of stuff that I just plain and simple do not need and have many more yet to go. We have two back rooms and one is manily just all extra stuff there is no room for an my main goal is to have that all cleaned out. I keep my house very clean but want to have all the access clutter gone, it will make it look so much nicer and more spacious.
These are what I have decided upon as my " New Years Resolutions". I have that in quotatins because when I think of people who talk about thier resolutions they usually have a huge unrealistic list of things they know will never get done, I myself am guilty of doing this before too. This year I wanted to actually work on making a lot of changes in my life, so therefore I'll be calling them my resolutions for lack of better wording I suppose.

There you have it, my 3 resolutions for 2013. I want to make this year one of my best yet because 2012 wasn't all that great for me and a lot of the reasons for that are things I am able to change and work on so here is to a new year!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
" Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared off the secluded island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger family. There was no corpse, no witnesses, no evidence. But her uncle, Henrik, is convinced that she was murdered by someone from her own deeply dysfunctional family. Disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist is hired to investigate, but he quickly finds himself in over his head. He hires a competent assistant: the gifted and conscience-free computer specialist Lisbeth Salander, and the two unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vangers are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves "
I've been putting off reading this book for a while because I'd heard so many good things about it, but yet it just didn't seem like something I would enjoy. I finally caved and I couldn't put it down! The first 40-50 pages are a little hard to get through, it basically gives you background info and info on some of the characters, but once you get past that the pace picks up so much and you just can't stop reading. Once I got going I had the book finished in about two and a half days, I definitely wish I had read this sooner, but better late then never. If you haven't read this book you absolutely need to read it, you won't be disappointed.

Meet Rocco!
We have both wanted to get a puppy for quite sometime, until last July we lived in a small apartment so we knew it would have to wait. Once we were settled in our place we started looking round, we checked the humane society and kijiji at least a few times a week and would stop into the humance society when we were in that area. Late fall we were there on a Saturday afternoon (they are closed Sundays) and we fell in love with a 2 month old lab puppy. Sadly by the time we could find out any information she was sold :( we kind of put of the search and then I randomly checked on kijiji one day and we saw a breeder had 1 golden retriever left, so we jumped on that right away. This was him at 5 weeks old when we went to see him.
How adorable was he! We fell in love basically and put down a deposit for him right away. He was so good and just cuddled in my arm the whole time we were there, I couldn't wait to get him home with us. We picked him up on December 10th, he was a couple days shy of being 7 weeks old. This was him and I his first day home <3
He is now 18 weeks old, and we have had him for 11 weeks. He has come so far, and as frusterating as it can be trying to train him we love him so much and can't imagine now having him. He is now house trained, he hasn;t had an accident in about a month now, our major problem is he liked to bite our hands/arms. Won't bite furnature or shoes, just us :/ but hopefully as he continues to grow this will slowly go away. Now on to show him off some more, Ill just post some pictures, starting with yougest ones and ending in his more recent portrait which is about a week or so old.

Maybelline dream bouncy blush
Todays product I want to talk about is the Maybelline dream bouncy blush. I only have one color, and I've only had it for a few days but I felt I needed to discuss it. I've been hearing about these blushes quite a bit since they first came out, and pretty well everyone has had a different opinion on them. I've been putting off getting them just in case I didn't like it because when we first got them here they were $11, which to me is quite pricey for a small drugstore blush. The other day I was at Wal Mart and noticed they finally had them and they were only $7 so I figured what the heck. I got the shade Peach Satin #20
One thing I heard from many people was that they are very sheer, so I wanted to get a bit of a darker shade just to make sure I would get at least a little pigmentation. As soon as I saw this shade I knew I wanted this one it just looked like such a pretty color. One thing to mention as the name says they are "bouncy" when you press down on them they will bounce back up, not fully though, I try to refrain from pressing too hard to keep it from look terrible. I just lightly take my figure and swirl the top and apply it with my figure as well.
It's such a gorgeous peachy/coral color, and it is so light weight. It goes on as a cream and dries to a powder like consistancy and feels so smooth on your face. I personally was surprised with the pigmentation of it, I haven't had any probems with it. I put on one layer if I want a really subtle flush or two layers if I want it a little more noticable.
Thin layer on my hand
Thicker layer on my arm
Over all Im really enjoying this blush, I went into it with very little expextation since I'd heard so many mixed reviews but am very happy with it, I will probably get a couple more of the darker shades.

Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV
Hey guys! Today I want to talk about Urban Decays Book of Shadows IVI ordered this quite q while ago when it was on sale on Hautelook, I believe I got it for $26. They have it on sale now for $44 at urbandecay. com with an original price of $64. Ive always been a HUGE fan of thier eyeshadows so when I seen this on sale I had to jump at it. With this product you get 16 gorgeous eyeshadows (10 which are new colors),a full-size 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, a travel-size Eyeshadow Primer Potion and a travel-size Supercurl Curling Mascara. It also comes with a portable speaker and how-to videos ( barcodes to use with your phone).
Such pretty packaging!
Eyeshadows are- Blue Bus, Gunmetal, Cobra, baked, Bender, Gravity, Lost, Hijack, Midnight cowgirl, Sin, Midnight Rodeo, Crystal, Bust, Missionary, Skimp, Zypher.
I love this palette, the colors are gorgeous they go on so smooth and have such a nice sheen to them. If you want more of a matte look then this isn't the right product for you. All the colors are really pigmented and if used with a primer underneath will last all day long with no creasing. I already have thier primer potion in full size which I love so will be good to have another, a little goes a long way. I haven't used the mascara yet because im working on getting some of my others used up at the moment but I have tried the eye liner and I must say I really love it. It has a brush applicator which I find easier to work with then felt tip ones, since getting this it has actually gotten me back into eyeliner. All in all I love this and definitley glad to have it in my collection.

Mac Creamblend Blush
Hey guys! I know ive been terrible with posting but Im seriously going to try and be better with it, Ive got a lot of great products I want to share as well as various other topics I want to talk about. Todays product I want to talk about are M.A.C Creamblend blushes! I only have 2 and I've only had them for just about a month and they have quickly become my favorites.
(Restores Dazzle!, So Sweet, So Easy)
(Restores Dazzle!)
(So Sweet, So Easy)
Swatches
(top; Restores Dazzle, Bottom; So Sweet, So Easy)
As the name of thm suggest they are a cream blush which turns into a powder like consistancy when blended into your cheeks. Restores Dazzle! is a rich plum color, which looks scary in the pan but you can blend it out into a lovely sheer plum color or if you like a deep really noticable blush it is easy to build up. For me personally it is more of an evening color, I tend to stick with lighter colors for everyday use, which takes me to So Sweet, So Easy. This is a bright yellow pink and I adore it. It is the perfect color for everyday wear, its such a nice pink color that really just adds a nice natural blush color to your cheeks. If you are a person who really likes your blush to stand out and be the focal point of your face it is really easy to build up as well. I definitley reccomed giving these a try, I definitley plan to pick up a few more colors!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows
Maybelline has a new line of cream eyeshadows, which is part of thier eye studio line. I just happened to stumble upon them about a week and a half ago. I only grabbed 2 at first, just to try them out, I got Pomegranate Punk and Tough and Taupe. As soon as I used them I instantly fell in love. They're pretty near the same as MAC pain pots, they have the same consitancy. They are a fairly thick cream, almost like a concealer, which I love. Everyday I use MAC's painterly or rubenesque paint pot as my eye shadow bade. Since I have bought these they are all I've been using, I still love paint pots and will continue to use them, however I more then likely will not re purchase them, with the exception of painterly as there is no color similar to it in this collection.
There are 10 colors in the collection, I currently only have 6 of them, but definitley plan to buy some more. With the exception of a nude color, they pretty well have every color you could need for a base. They do claim these are 24 hour wear, I don't know why anyone would need thier make up to last that long so I have no opinion on that claim, but I can wear them all day for about 10 hours and have absolutley no problem with them creasing. At about $7 each you can buy three of these for the price ofone MAC paint pot and get the same results.

Revlon Lip Butters
I know this will be an old topic to many, but I have to post about the Revlon Lipbutters. I had to wait for these for nearly a month after I first heard about them on youtube, and I was SO excited when I finally found them here at a grocery store. They are definitley worth all the hype, I absoltely love them. I'm not personally that into lip products, its definitley what I have least of in my make-up collection, by quite a bit. These are now my go to lip product. I don't have the whole collection, although I'm sure I will end up with most of them eventually.
( creme brule, sugar frosting, cotton candy, strawberry shortcake, raspberry pie, sugar plum)
In my opinion they are a lipstick that is more moisturizing then most. Some people have been disappointed with the moisture level, but I think they were expecting more of a tinted lip balm which this definitley isn't. My favorites are definitley cotton candy and sugar plum they're what I use as everyday go to colors.
(sorry the picture quality is terrible,I have no idea what happened there :/ )

Monday, 31 October 2011
Lately Ive been doing a lot of makeup buying from Sephora and MAC (wtih the exception of elf and stuff from Cherry culture, but that still has to be shipped) so Im trying to get stuff from Wal-Mart or Shoppers when I get that urge to get or try something new, because lets face it Im not rich so if I can get good things for cheaper im certainly going to try it.
First product Im going to talk about is a blush from hard candy, its called honeymoon. Its this peachy/pink color with some shimmer through it.Its suck apretty color when I tried it the first time I knew I was going to love it. It goes on fairly sheer just enough to give youa little pop of color on your cheeks to brighten your face up. Theres a really nice sheer shimmer through it, it gives you a really beautiful shimmer if your cheek hits the light the right way. I dont like shimmer when it just looks way too much and unnatural. When I wear this blush I dont use a highlighter on my cheeks becaause its just way too much for me, which is kind of nice because then I can skip that step.
Next is a single eye shadow from Cover Girl and its called tapestry toupe. I love doing a nice neautral eye, its pretty much my go to look for everyday beforework,I have a lot of various neautral browns/toupes/ gold for some reason I can never resist buying new ones even when I have a color thats so similar you would hardly notice the difference when its on, oh well at least this one was cheap. Its a really pretty toupe and I can definitley see myself reaching for this quite frequantly especially when I need a quick look before work.
Next is a quad from maybelline and its called Purple Icon. I admitI am asucker for anything that is purple. It is by far my favorite color I almost always have something purple on me weather it be clothes, nail polish or eye shadow. So needless to say when I was looking around at Wal-Mart and seen this I had to pick it up.
Finally I picked up 2 palettes from Wet N Wild, Comfort zone and Blue had me at Hello. Id often seen the display for Wet N Wild but never paid much attention, I figured if it was that cheap it couldn't be very good. Then I started hearing lots of people talking about them on youtube, so I decided to pick them up. Imust say Im very impressed, theres 8 colors in each palette and Id say 6 out of 8 are really good and very pigmented.

A little somethin' new
Hey everyone long time no post! I can now say that Im married!! Which has explained my lack of posting anything, Im going to make a seperate post about the wedding, Im just waiting to get some good pictures back to add in the post. Anyways back to some make up, Ive bought some new elf stuff and nyx from hautelook, Ive got more coming but I figured Id put them in seperate posts, so it wasnt too much all at once. Ill start of with Elf;
I got a brush set (the black brushes, I put some of my other good ones in with it), a blush and bronzer duo, 2 blushes, an eye shadow palette and some mattifying powder and a concealer quad. I must say these are myfirst elf products and I am very pleased. The price is so fantastic that even if some of the products arent the most pigmented or use up quickly it almost dosent even bother me. this whole order I think came to 45 dollars and that wasonly because of the brushes. Here another close up of some products;

what I got was 6 jumbo eye pencils which ive always heard such great things about I cant wait to get to try them all. Also an eye shadow palette, a super skinny liquidliner and a slide on eye liner. I havent gotten to use the Nyx products yet as I just got them today so I just played with a few colorson my hand but they seem to all be pigmented and work very well on the skin.
Thats an end to that for now, I believe I have another big elf order on the way as well as something from Sephora im very excited about so look out for a post on those soon! Thanks for reading.

11 days!
We are now down to 11 days until the wedding! I'm so excited, and finally starting to get a little nervous. I mean Im not nervous at all about being married, I can't wait for that. We've lived together for a year and eight months now, its not like theres going to be a huge change in our everday life. What Im most nervous about is doing everything in front of nearly 100 people! I hate being the centre of attention so Im ggoing to have a hard time that day, Im also dreading our speeches like the plague! Me and public speaking aren't a good mixture, Ryan hates it as much as I do.
Its getting to the point now where we have so many little nit picky things left to do, I have no desire to even do it. Ive been putting off doing our programs now for about a week :/ Im going to have to get going and get them sent to the copy place or we wont have them in time. Also need to get going with our wedding favors, and making sure everything we have gets to the hall on time with nothing breaking or getting lost or misplaced, should be quite the hectic week to come!

slight disappointment...
I loved the first Quo shadow and blush duos I bought so much, so when I was at Shoppers again I had to get some more, I got your a peach. Which is pretty good, I like made you flush much more though. As the nme suggests they are very peachy colors.
I also got another eyeshadow, its called Plums of the world. I must say I was very excited for this one because I love purple eyeshadows so much but I was very disappointed with this one. The pigmentation isnt good at all, it takes loads of coats just to make the color noticable. While I was there though I also bought some new mascara which came with an eyeliner. The mascara is great, makes my lashes look long and fuller. Ive only used the eyesliner a couple times it seems lke it works good, it looks like a marker and takes a couple coats if you want a really dark black but for a nice day look it is nice.
Lastly I got some Quo eye make up remover while there as well, and then the next day my boscia make up remover came in the mail from Sephora which I forgot I had ordered so Im well stocked up now. They both work well, the boscia is a bit more oily though. I also got Two faced primed and poreless foundation primer. Id heard great things about it and wanted to try it. I do like it quite a lot, I find it helps my foundation last a bit longer and feel smoother.

New make up!
Well I couldnt resist, I was in a make up sort of mood so I took a few pictures of my newest make up purchases and I figured I would post them and talk about the products.
this i my oldest newest purchase, the Urban Decay 15th anniversary pallette, it is gorgeous! Its such a great everyday pallette, its mostly what I use in the mornings when I dont have a lot of time before work, wuick and simple and looks great.

This I got last week, from left to right; MAC mythical eyeshadow,a red coppery color. Seaside, a cream color base which I havent used much yet. Smashbox charm eyeshadow quad, great purple colors which work well with hazel and brown eyes. MAC satin toupe eyeshadow, which is great everyday color, its like a brown/purple toupey color, MAC dipped down fluid line which is a brown eyeliner. Lastly in the front is MAC street cool shade pencil. If you out it in your lid underneath satin toupe it looks great together.
Lastly I bought these today, first is an all over face duo by Quo and it is called Made you flush and second is and eye shadow duo by Quo called Beauty & Bronze. I havent had a chance to wear either of these but they are such pretty colors, and they look like theyy'll ork very well for everyday wear especially for the fall. not to mention, I really like the packaging, its super cute!
Hey there!
So, this is officially my first ever blog, which is exciting and scary all at the same time. I didnt create this for any one spacific reason. I love reading other people blogs, and even if no one ever reads mine it will be a good way to express myself and get things off my chest. There isnt any one certain topic ill be discussing here, just random things that I enjoy and are happening in my life. As it said in my about me section, I am getting married in just over a month which is crazy! It is so hard to believe that nearly a year has passed since Ryan propsed, between planning a wedding and buying our fist place, it has been a pretty stressful and exciting year! Another big thing that I will probably talk about on here is make-up and beauty products, I watch countless amounts of vidoes on youtube about make-up/beauty/fashion and I just love it, I have a fairly extensize collection and I generally dont go longer then a week or so without buying something new, so I will surely update you all on here as I buy new things and will share my opinion, I would love to make videos on youtube too but I dont know, I think Im still too shy for that. I also love photography, Im not very good so I hope to get more practice with that soon and become better with it. I also have a huge book collection, it saddens me I havent had the time to read as much anymore, hopefully when things settle down more I can though. Also lately I am completely addicted to The Vampire Diaries, super excited for season 3 to start this thursday! So thats pretty wekk an overview of what sort of topics to expect from this blog, and hopefully you all will enjoy it!
